May 20: Last day to submit community service hours
All community service hours must be submitted by 11:59 pm on Tuesday, May 20, 2026.

May 20: Fines and fees due
All fines and fees are due by Tuesday, May 20, 2026. Seniors with outstanding fines or fees will not receive their diplomas until all fines and fees have been cleared. Log onto the Payment Portal to check your account and pay any outstanding fees. Most fees are related to Chromebook assurance, as outlined in our Family-Student Handbook (page 6). You will receive an email from Mrs. Robinson about the fees that you owe.
If you have unreturned materials from a previous North Thurston school, they must be returned to the school building where they were issued.
May 20: Last day to order your cap and gown
Orders are due by Wednesday, May 20, 2026. To purchase the basic bundle, use the link above, or:
- Visit the Jostens website
- Click Find My School and enter “Summit Virtual Academy.”
- On the graduation graphic, click SHOP
- Scroll down and click Shop all graduation products
- Scroll down to the Cap & Gown category and choose “Cap/Gown/Tassel/Medallion Unit.”
- Complete the 5 steps to build your package
- Add to your cart and checkout!
June 1: Last day to submit work
All work must be submitted by 11:59 am on Monday, June 1, 2026. On June 1, classes will be closed for grading in preparation for graduation. Students must maintain a 60 or higher in each course to receive 0.5 credits.
June 11, 9:30 am: Mandatory Senior Breakfast

To celebrate all of your hard work and accomplishments, we are hosting a senior breakfast/awards ceremony beginning at 9:30 am on Thursday, June 11. Due to the size of our space, this event is only for students and staff. Following our senior breakfast on June 11, we will transition to the Koval Center for the Performing Arts, just across the parking lot, for graduation practice.
June 11, 10:30 am: Mandatory Graduation Practice

You must attend graduation marching practice. Rehearsal will be at the Koval Center for the Performing Arts (KPAC), located across a parking lot from the SVA offices (on the northeastern side of the North Thurston High School campus, close to the football field).
Graduation Ceremony
Thursday, June 11, at 7:00 pm

Graduates arrive at 6:30 pm; Guests will be seated at 6:45 pm. There is no secure storage for purses or other valuables at the Koval Center. Graduates should leave valuables at home or with their families.
Cameras/Video Recorders
No one will be allowed on the main floor near the stage to film or take pictures of the commencement ceremony. Professional photographs will be taken as each graduate walks across the stage. A digital gallery of photos will be shared via email, and print copies will be available for purchase. The ceremony will be livestreamed for remote guests on the Koval Center's YouTube Channel.
Honors designations at graduation
Honors cords will be distributed at the June 10th mandatory marching practice before graduation.
- Honors: A cumulative GPA of 3.25 to 3.49 earns a silver cord.
- High Honors: Cumulative GPAs of 3.50 to 3.74 earn a gold cord.
- Highest Honors: Cumulative GPAs of 3.75 to 4.0 earn a medallion.
After Graduation
Transcript requests
All transcripts are processed through an online company called Parchment. Visit the Parchment website to order. You will need to set up an account and pay a fee. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Robinson at 360-412-4908.
Running Start students
If you are enrolled in a course during the spring quarter that is required to fulfill your NTPS diploma requirements, your counselor will confirm with the college that you are in good academic standing for graduation. Your diploma will not be issued until the college sends the final passing grades.
New Market Skills Center students
If you are enrolled in the New Market Skills Center's second semester, your counselor will confirm with New Market that you are in good academic standing for graduation. Your diploma will not be issued until New Market sends the final passing grades.
