About Summit
Welcome to Summit Virtual Academy!
We are the home of the Mountaineers! Summit is a free, online K-12 school where students can learn at home, and are part of North Thurston Public Schools in Lacey, WA. At Summit, we believe everyone can achieve individual growth when our community of students, families, and staff work together. In an environment where tradition meets innovation, learners can reach their true summit.

Goals & School Improvement Plan
Academic Gap Goal
Reduce the performance gap on the spring 2026 math SBA between low-income and non-low-income students by at least 10 percentage points, as measured by the percentage of students meeting or exceeding standards (5.9% of low-income students scored level 3 or 4 compared with 16% of non-low-income students).
Behavior and Social-Emotional Learning Gap Goal
Increase the percentage of students in grades 4–12 who respond positively to the CEE Survey statement, “Work I do in this school is useful and interesting to me,” from 61% (2025) to at least 70%.
